
Keeping Your Bathroom Warm Without Blinding Yourself
Let’s be honest: nobody likes stepping out of a hot shower into a freezing cold bathroom. It’s a shock to the system. To fix that, you need some serious heat, but you also need to make sure you aren’t putting a high-voltage heater in a room full of steam and splashing water. That’s where the IP44 rating comes in. In plain English? It means we’ve built the housing to keep out any solid bits larger than 1mm and to shrug off water splashes from any angle. It keeps the guts of the machine dry while you’re blasting heat into a humid room. It just works.
The “Blinding Light” Problem
Here is the tricky part. Most infrared lamps are incredibly bright—almost blinding. If you’re stepping out of the shower or helping a baby in the bath, the last thing you want is a harsh, glaring light hitting your eyes. We figured out a way to fix this by tweaking the physics. We use a specific mix of quartz glass and internal coatings to filter out that aggressive glare. You still get all the warmth, but the light is much softer on the eyes. We’ve shifted the focus to medium and long-wave emissions. These penetrate the skin to warm you up, but they don’t trigger that “I’m staring at the sun” feeling. Your retinas will thank you.
Getting It Installed
We designed these to be simple drop-in replacements for the fixtures you already have. We also added moisture-resistant seals around the sockets because, let’s face it, corrosion is the enemy in a bathroom. Without that IP44 protection, electronics in these zones tend to burn out way too fast. One quick heads-up, though. Because the housing is sealed tight to keep water out, there isn’t as much airflow inside. This means the internal parts run a bit hotter. Just make sure your circuit breaker can handle the peak wattage when the heater first kicks on. You don’t want the power tripping right when you’re trying to get warm. It’s a small trade-off for the peace of mind that comes with a waterproof heater.
